RAY

Privacy

Last updated 11 August 2026

Ray is built so that the data it needs never has to leave your phone. The short version: we do not have an account system, we do not run analytics in the app, and we cannot see your trips.

What stays on your device

Your trips, wake and bedtime settings, chronotype, caffeine and melatonin preferences, and the plans Ray generates are stored on your device and in your own iCloud backup if you have backups switched on. They are not sent to us and we have no way to read them.

What we never collect

Notifications and alarms

Cue reminders and the wake and lights-out alarms are scheduled locally by iOS. Nothing is sent through a server, and permission is optional — Ray works without it, you just have to open the app to see the current cue.

Flight lookup

If you enter a flight number, that number is sent to our flight data provider to return the airports and times. Nothing else about you goes with it. You can skip this entirely by choosing the airports yourself.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We receive the anonymous receipt Apple provides to confirm your subscription is active; we never see your payment details.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing for us to export or erase. If you believe we hold something of yours, write to hey@some.studio and we will deal with it. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
